Katherine
Vanderbilt University,
The Brearley School
Katherine graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University, where she was a research assistant in the Laboratory for Research on Conflict and Collective Action, an executive member of She’s the First—an organization supporting girls’ education globally—and a clinic escort at Planned Parenthood. Throughout high school, she balanced rigorous academics with competitive show jumping, earning gold medals at the U.S. National Junior Jumper Championship and North American Youth Championship. While at Vanderbilt and in the years following graduation, she competed for the U.S. Equestrian Team. During that time, she began tutoring fellow equestrians—experiences that deepened her passion for education and inspired her to found Excelsior Academics. Through teaching, she saw firsthand how individualized support and encouragement can help students gain confidence and reach their potential. When she's not working with students, Katherine enjoys riding horses, studying French, and following current events.
